inspectEV ("we", "us") makes the BlackBox OBD-II dongle and the inspectEV mobile app, which reads your electric vehicle's Battery Management System (BMS) to produce a State of Health report. This page explains what data we collect, why, and what we do with it.

What we collect — ordering the BlackBox

When you check out on this site, we collect the delivery and contact details you enter: name, phone number, email address, and delivery address, plus anything you add in the notes field.

This is sent as an email to our order inbox ([email protected]) so we can confirm stock, send you the payment details, arrange shipping, and contact you about your order. We don't run a customer database or CRM — your order details live in that email thread, and we use them only to fulfil and support your purchase.

What we collect — using the app

The inspectEV app reads battery data (State of Health, cell voltages, pack temperature, and similar diagnostics) directly from your vehicle over Bluetooth, via the BlackBox dongle. This data is processed on your phone to build your report.

• We do not receive or store your vehicle's BMS data on any server.
• PDF reports are generated and saved locally on your device. They're only sent anywhere if you choose to share or export one yourself.
• The app does not require an account or login.

Cookies & tracking

This website does not use cookies, analytics, or advertising trackers. Nothing about your visit here is logged or sold.

Third parties

No payment is taken on this website and no card details are entered here — we email you the payment details when we confirm your order. If you pay through a payment link we send you, that payment provider processes your payment under its own privacy policy. We don't share your order details with advertisers or data brokers. A courier partner will see your name, address, and phone number solely to deliver your order.

Your rights

You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it (once any order is fully fulfilled) at any time — email [email protected] and we'll action it directly, since we don't have an automated data platform to navigate.

Changes to this policy

If how we handle data changes, we'll update this page and change the date above. Continued use of the site or app after an update means you accept the revised policy.
